The crossbow was deployed at the start of a battle to weaken the enemy troops. It was a strong and powerful weapon whose arrows could pierce a harness. This crossbow is a so-called foot crossbow. To arm it, the shooter placed his foot in the ring in front of the weapon. The tendon was stretched with the metal bindweed. This often required the strength of two people.
This bow is an extremely rare example of exceptional quality. The earliest core dates back to 1400. The last adjustments were made in the 19th century. The weapon is made of wood, bone, horn, waxed cord and iron parts.
