Block model of a Chinese junk (Chongqing) - probably a ‘mayangzi’ junk
Description
Excavated block model. Flat bottom, fore with short curve, connecting to a flat raking swim head. Angular bilges. Virtually straight flaring board with angular crook merging into bent bulwark. Turret deck. Flat sheer, somewhat rising at the rear. Open forebody with hatch covers up to the mast beam. Closed superstructure, running from the starboard to the port side, with two-piece arched wooden roof; in-between open space. Stern in line, connecting to swim head. Mast with ring bolt for tracking rope.
