Wooden carriage. Ashwood glides bent upwards at the front and rear and covered with sheet iron. On each of the glides a runner inserted and connected with leather binding. The overlays are connected transversely from one slide to the other by an ashwood beam. Over the whole a framework in heavy reed reinforced at the front and back. The frame is spanned with a knitted net. Used during the South Pole expedition of the 'Belgica' led by Cdt A. De Gerlache.
