Description
Cargo junk for the transportation of coal. Capacity of 50 to 60 tons. Model built of planks and transverse bulkheads. Flat bottom, fore and aft slightly rising. Forebody with straight, narrow, slightly raking swim head. The bottom ends aft in an upright, flat transom. Behind it a rudder well, followed by an arched swim head, the upper part of which rakes forwards. Angular bilges. Almost straight side, running sternwards beyond the transom, up to the swim head. Flat sheer. Upper part of transom excavated. On the port side a cathead, which rests on the short, fixed fore cuddy board. Low hatch coaming and narrow gangway. Two large loose hatches, in front of the mast beam of the mainmast. Open hold with floor ceiling. After cuddy board with two loose hatches. On the stern four round stanchions supporting a wooden roof. Balanced drop rudder, bent top. Two masts with rectangular sails of broad bamboo strips, alternately stitched.
