Het Rode Boekje uit 1964 is de gangbare naam voor het werkje met rode kaft dat tijdens de Culturele Revolutie (ca. 1966-1976) in China aan onder meer de Rode Garde, volksmilities en scholieren werd uitgedeeld. Het bevatte de ideologische stellingen van partijvoorzitter Mao Zedong, het zgn. Maoïsme. Deze Chinese variant van het marxistisch communisme was verplichte lectuur voor miljoenen Chinezen die de teksten tijdens dagelijkse groeps- of massasessies uit het hoofd leerden.
Dit 57 pagina's tellende exemplaar met een titelblad in het rood gedrukt en een afbeelding van een foto met de potretkop van Mao in sepiatint als voorwerk, is in een rood omslag van kunststof gestoken waarop de titel samen met een tekst in gouden opdruk. Het boekje is in een kartonnen omslag genaaid. In het colophon wordt 1968 als datum van uitgave vermeld.
