Schilderij voorstellend de Franse viermastbark "Rhône" van de rederij A.D. Bordes & fils te Duinkerken, profiel stuurboord, zeilend in volle zee, vol tuig zeil minderend, buitenkluiver, voorbovenbram, bruisbovenbram, bagijnzeil. Franse vlag aan gaffel. Het schip werd gebouwd in La Seyne in 1896; tonnenmaat 3033 brt - 2451 net.
